ISI is an entirely independent, privately-owned scientific consulting laboratory that provides regulatory testing and solutions to both unusual and common problems. Both our office and laboratory are located in the same building in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. The business was founded in 1991 by Peter Child and James Ford and, since 2001, owned and managed by James Ford. In 2021 ISI was acquired by Sira Shahrzad - A senior Chemist at ISI for ten years, and Farzad Mirzaei, who worked for ISI as a senior chemist for many years in the past.

Sira Shahrzad is a highly educated and experienced chemist with a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Giessen in Germany. She has also completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Tsukuba in Japan and the University of Southern California, further enhancing her expertise in the field. With a background in analytical chemistry and experience in toxicology from her time at the University of Guelph in Canada as a research faculty member, Sira is a well-rounded and valuable asset to any research project.

Farzad Mirzaei is also a highly educated and experienced chemist, holding a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Giessen in Germany. He has also held postdoctoral positions at AIST (The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology) in Japan and the University of Waterloo in Canada, further strengthening his expertise in the field. With a strong background in chemistry and a passion for discovery, Farzad is a valuable asset to any research project and problem-solving.

Sira Shahrzad and Farzad Mirzaei, together with James Ford, continue ISI’s tradition of scientific problem-solving and greatly enhance their chemistry consulting capability. James Ford remains with ISI as Senior Consulting Scientist and can be contacted at his usual e-mail.
